Refund Policy

Century Oak Co. creates handcrafted, custom, and made-to-order wood pieces. Because many of our projects are built specifically for each customer, space, design, and material selection, our refund policy is different from a standard retail return policy.

Custom and Made-to-Order Items

Custom, made-to-order, personalized, built-in, modified, or specially sourced items are generally non-returnable and non-refundable once approved, once materials have been purchased, or once production has begun.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Custom furniture

  • Cabinetry

  • Built-ins

  • Doors

  • Trim work

  • Pieces made to specific dimensions

  • Pieces using selected reclaimed, vintage, antique, or specialty materials

  • Items with custom finishes, stains, hardware, or design details

Deposits

Deposits are used to reserve shop time, begin design work, source materials, and start project planning. Deposits may be non-refundable once work has begun, materials have been purchased, or production has been scheduled.

If a cancellation request is made before work has begun, Century Oak Co. may review the request on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. If a custom project is canceled after design work, material sourcing, or production has begun, the customer may be responsible for costs already incurred, including design time, materials, labor, administrative costs, and any non-refundable supplier expenses.

Natural Wood and Reclaimed Material Variation

Natural wood and reclaimed materials vary in color, grain, texture, patina, knots, nail holes, checking, saw marks, and signs of age. These characteristics are part of the beauty and authenticity of handcrafted woodwork and are not considered defects.

Refunds or returns will not be offered based solely on natural variation, grain pattern, color movement, patina, or reclaimed character unless the finished piece is materially different from the approved project details.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged or you believe there is a workmanship issue, please contact Century Oak Co. within 7 days of delivery, pickup, or installation.

Please include:

  • Your name

  • Order or invoice number, if available

  • A description of the issue

  • Clear photos of the item, damage, packaging, or affected area

We will review the issue and determine an appropriate resolution. Depending on the situation, this may include repair, adjustment, replacement of a component, a shipping claim, or another reasonable solution.

Items Not Eligible for Refund

Refunds are not available for:

  • Custom or made-to-order items after approval or production

  • Changes in customer preference

  • Incorrect measurements provided by the customer

  • Natural variation in wood or reclaimed materials

  • Damage caused by misuse, improper care, water, humidity, heat, sunlight, or unauthorized modifications

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Delivery delays outside our control

  • Items damaged after delivery, pickup, or installation

Approved Refunds

If a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method when possible. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
